Russia will host this World Cup and the national football team will debut next June 14 at the Lužniki Stadium in Moscow against Saudi Arabia. In the 80s the national football team of the USSR returned to compete in an international competition participating at the World Cup Espana ‘82 after a convincing qualifying phase. In Spain, the national team with the CCCP written on the shirt tested the Brazilian “Selecao” and passed the first phase, occupying the second place behind Brazil. This represents the first time in which the Soviets reach the final phase of the World Cup.
