The 1-0 of Ajax in the re-match allows the Tricky Trees to play the European Cup final for the second year in a row.
In the Santiago Bernabéu of Madrid, against the German team of Hamburg S. V. (whose star was the Englishman Kevin Keegan), the Forest enters the field without his goalscorer Trevor Frencis. Thanks to the goal of John Robertson and a great performance by the defenders and goalkeeper Peter Shilton Nottingham Forest achieved the feat of to become back to back winners of the trophy, winning the 1980 European Cup.
