Official Nottingham Forest vintage shirt - The beginning of Clough and Taylor's team

In the second half of the 70s, England is affected by the oil crisis and the punk movement is replacing the Swinging London.
In Nottingham on January 6, 1975, after a brief period at Leeds United, Brian Clough was chosen as a coach of Nottingham Forest, and brought with him to the club the trusted John McGovern and John O'Hare, protagonists along with the coach of the 1971-72 victory First Division, the same season in which Nottingham Forest is relegated to the Second Division. In 1975/76 after the first full season under the guidance of Clough, the Forest ended eighth in Championship.

In 1976 Clough reformed the winning couple of 1972 with his assistant Peter Taylor. He is a talented scout and brings players like Martin O'Neil, Larry Loyd, the young Viv Anderson and one of the best Scottish wings ever: John Robertson to Nottingham. The Reds of Clough and Taylor make great use of the sidebands, and plays an aggressive football in every area of the field. The first title won was the 1976-77 Anglo-Scottish Cup, but at the end of the year, with a fortunate third place, they won the promotion in the First Division. After half a decade, Nottingham Forest returned to play in the English top flight.
