During the 1989/90 season, Napoli won the title after an exciting duel against the Milan of Sacchi and Van Basten. The Azzurri (trained by Alberto Bigon), included champions like Diego Armando Maradona (16 goals), Careca, a very young Zola, Crippa, Ciro Ferrara (record-man of presences during the season). The last games were crucial. For example, the victory by default at Bergamo due to a coin thrown against Alemao and the last victory at home against Lazio, decided by Marco Baroni.
