Football shirt of the Portugal national football team
In 1972 Portugal didn't qualified to European Championship in Belgium being finished second in the qualifying group. So in June the portuguese national team went to Brazil to take part in the Brazil Independence Cup (Minicopa), a tournament to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Brazilian Declaration of Independence. Eusebio and Dinis led the national team to the final against Brazil but then Jairzinho scored the goal that gave the trophy to the hosts. By the way, this was the best international performance by Portugal since 1966 World Cup and before 1984 World Cup.
