Official FC Porto Retro Shirt: the first European Cup for the Dragons
In 1986/87 the Portuguese team's coach was Artur Jorge. Jorge, who with the Dragões won two titles in two years, imposed a purely offensive game.
The top scorer Fernando Gomes, a young Paulo Futre and the Algerian Rabah Madjer were the stars of this Porto, which imposed his way of playing throughout the entire competition. The guys with the blue and white shirts had not stopped attacking even in the two matches for the semifinals against the fearsome Dynamo Kiev, both won by 2-1 by the Portuguese team.
In the 1987 European Cup Final, waiting for them there is Bayern Munich. The men from Bavaria have defeated Real Madrid in the semi-finals and are the favorites.
At the Vienna's Praterstadion Porto is affected by important absences such as Gomes, Pacheco and Casagrande.
Bayern dominated the first half, taking the lead thanks to a header from Kögl, and with this result went to rest. For the second half the Port included Dos Santos Riho Juary Jorge, simply known as Juary. The Brazilian begins to trouble the German defenders.
At 12 minutes from the end, he enters the area, puts it in the middle for Madjer, who with "the heel of Allah" scores an incredible goal: 1-1.
After just two minutes, the scene is repeated with reversed parts: Madjer crosses in the middle, Juary anticipates the Bavarian goalkeeper to blow up the Portuguese fans with joy.
FC Porto wins its first European Cup, 17 years before the team coached by Josè Mourinho.
