On May 22, 1963 AC Milan, beating Benfica 2-1, won the 1963 European Cup at Wembley Stadium. Altafini scores twice after Eusébio's goal and gives the win to the Rossoneri. Captain Cesare Maldini lifts the trophy, for the first time won by an Italian club. AC Milan's performance was extraordinary: in nine games they scored 33 goals and conceded only 6. Altafini was the topscorer in Europe with 14, record of the competition held until 2012.
